Since May 2018, construction works on the subterranean parking area of the ‘Central field’ of the ‘Nieuwe Dokken’ district have been finished and building of the apartments aboveground has commenced.  Meanwhile, a subcontractor has integrated the complex system of underground piping, cables and sewer lines into a Building Information Model (BIM). This model was used to solve conflicting pipe connections and final errors in the engineering plans. The construction of underground technics has started and is expected to finish before the end of Q2 2019.

The NEREUS pilot located at the Uit Je Eigen Stad (UJES) city farm in Rotterdam, has been moved to the research hall on the Delft Blue Innovations site in the Harnaschpolder (HNP) near Delft.

The 2 Seas Programme Midterm Review Event takes place in Ghent on 25 and 26th of April. This event aims to showcase the Programme’s project achievements (with Nereus as one them) to all interested target groups. Nereus will be represented with a booth at the exhibition and will also be in the picture as one of the project video's is showcasing our democases and project results so far.

Mid December academics, technology decision makers and policy makers gathered in Chilworth, Southampton (UK). They were invited for a workshop hosted by the University of Portsmouth and the Nereus Project Consortium to discuss the development of a decision support tool for wastewater recovery projects.

Annette Ottolini, managing director at the Dutch water utility Evides opened on June 25th the NEREUS pilot location in Rotterdam under the watchful eye of international guests. At this site, the reuse of domestic waste water will be tested and researched.

The Interreg 2Seas Nereus Project Consortium organized an Inspiration day with focus on water reuse, energy and nutrient recovery on the 31st of May. This event was held in in Saint-Omer, France and was also the Start Conference of the INTERREG 2 SEAS NEREUS project.
